- Arranging the assessment of Regional Investment Packages for NHT2, NAP and NLP funding and forwarding to the Australian and State Government for Ministerial approval
- Providing ongoing administration of approved NHT2, NAP and NLP activities, including funding agreement negotiations and funds management
- Managing and coordinating the quarterly, half-yearly and final reporting process for approved NHT2, NAP and NLP activities
- Providing administrative and logistic support to the Joint Australian and State Government Steering Committee overseeing NHT2, NAP and NLP
- Providing assistance to the Regions in the development and implementation of appropriate monitoring and evaluation structures, processes and systems
- Compiling the NHT2 and NAP Annual Reports for the State and Australian Governments

For information about national programs currently providing funding opportunities see NRM in Australia.
The NRM Support Unit produces a State annual report.

The NRM Contact Directory May 2007 lists the key contacts in natural resource management in Tasmania.

The following proforma reporting templates are to be used by proponents in the undertaking and completion of projects and activities funded under NHT2, NAP and NLP Programs: This Agreement is a framework for managing the capture, management and exchange of data and information between the Department of Primary Industries and Water (DPIW) and the three Tasmanian NRM Regions - North-West (also referred to as the Cradle Coast), Northern and Southern Regions.
The Tasmanian NRM Framework is based on the notion of active community, industry and government participation, and on shared ownership of natural resource management issues and outcomes at the State, regional, local and individual levels.
This is a Portable Document Format (PDF) file and requires the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Reader is easy to download and is free of charge.
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (MER) project aims to enable the three Natural Resource Management (NRM) Regions to carry out monitoring, evaluation and reporting accurately and meaningfully. This will allow them to judge the performance of their NRM investments and, at the same time, meet the requirements of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Framework and the Standards and Targets Framework.
Attached below are the MER Project Business Plan and the MER Strategy for the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP) and the Natural Heritage Trust Extension (NHT) in Tasmania.
